Personal Statement
After graduating in 2005 I travelled to India for six months. On my return to the UK, I set up and successfully ran my own e-commerce business, living comfortably off the profits. In 2007, my fiance and I decided to sell up and travel the world on our motorcycle. To save for the trip, I took a position as PA to the director of a museum design company.
In early 2009 we left the UK to travel 45,000kms overland on our motorcycle, with Australia as our final destination.
We arrived in Australia in May 2010, and have since been working in a capsicum packing shed in Northern Queensland.

Conceptua specialises in the design and installation of museum exhibits.
As personal assistant to the director I was required to efficiently manage the office, organising staff and liasing closely with both clients and contractors to get every project completed and installed on time. I processed quotes for new clients, filed invoices, chased payment from creditors, paid contractors and staff, calculated costings and end profits, filed company tax returns, booked installation dates, and generally managed projects from start to finish. The role required great organisation, strong timekeeping, good communication and fantastic negotiation skills. It also required the ability to understand detailed architectural design drawings, and versatility to adopt new tasks with ease.
